Wellness Warrior and Health Advocate
Lauralyn’s experience living with a rare neurological condition led to her deeper study and understanding of the mind/body/spirit connection. Motivated by a near-death experience, she learned a holistic approach to self-care is an essential practice to restore and maintain wellness.
For the past 17 years, she has coached individuals seeking stress relief and a holistic, intuitive, compassionate approach to self-care and life choices.
Lauralyn started her career as a freelance writer in New York City and worked as a journalist for over a decade.
Lauralyn’s Writing Experience
Her first publication was Proof Downtown: How Things Really Are. This zine captured the cultural movement happening during the grunge era in New York City.
Her work has been published in The Good News Network, Elite Military Magazine, The Long Beach Herald, The Baldwin Herald, Catholic Digest and The Fayetteville Observer among others.
She was an associate editor and cultural columnist for Long Island Woman, entertainment reporter for Good Times and technology columnist for Broadcasting and Cable.
She authored a book about the rise of Manhattan’s legendary Venus Body Piercing in the East Village and her work was cited in the book In The Flesh: The Cultural Politics of Body Modification by Victoria Pitts.
